Your new rug may have a slight scent or appear creased when first removed from its packaging. This is completely normal. Simply allow the rug to air out and settle flat for a few days, and any packaging odours or ripples will naturally dissipate.
Shedding of loose fibers is normal with new rugs. Shedding will diminish with regular vacuuming, typically within three to six months. To protect your rug, use a rug underlay. A rug underlay provides traction between the rug and floor to prevent slipping. It adds padding, keeps the rug smooth and flat, and prevents color transfer.
